Summer Fruit Recipes
Find that comfy chair, undo your bra (if you're wearing one), pour your favourite tipple and grab your favourite nibble. This is THE place to come for inspiration and delicious recipes. A veritable feast for foodies and bloggers alike. Let's get started shall we?........
This week is hotly tipped to be scorchio and without wishing to sound eighty two, I can't remember a Summer so hot for so long. As we speak the one hundredth paddling pool for the Walters family (we are reckless with our winter storage) is filling for much fun, frivolity and cat fights after school. Can't wait.....not.
One of the plus sides of this weather of course is the fabulous seasonal fruit and veg that comes our way. Britain grows some truly wonderful varieties and although very keen I am still yet to grow my own. One Summer a few years ago I was lucky enough to visit the The Riverford Field Kitchen an award winning organic restaurant and farming business that operates in beautiful Devon. The experience and more importantly the food, blew me away. The menu was based around it's seasonal homegrown British fruit and vegetables and it was outstanding. I still think about the beautiful, buttery braised Red Cabbage and mountainous Raspberry Pavlova I had there. If you are ever anywhere near the place I can't recommend it enough. Obvs I bought the book and have been meaning to dig emphatically for Britain and Rhubarb ever since.....
Last week's entries were abundant in diversity and general deliciousness. If you haven't yet cast an eye over them do pop over to Everyday Healthy Recipes for a gander.... I settled on four British Seasonal Summer Fruit Treats. I did feel dreadfully torn between this fruity four and the five wonderfully Chocolatey posts. Chocolate is perennial, thank the Lord, so I opted for the former. However I can't help but draw your eye, mouse or finger to them here......
- Double Decker Rocky Road from Bobsy's Mum. A girl after my own heart. I love the damn things.
- Chocolate Espresso Puddle Cookies from The Gluten Free Alchemist. These Cookies had me at Espresso.
- Triple Chocolate Tahini Cookies from The Foodie Journey. Sylvie convinces me that I should.
- Chocolate Chufa Macaroons from Tin and Thyme sound divine.
- Vegan Snickers Smoothie Bowl from Yumsome. A healthy Chocolate dessert...who knew.
Four Fabulous Summer Fruit Treats
Strawberry Tart

Strawberry Tart
The first recipe is from the talented Angela at Only Crumbs Remain with this wonderful Strawberry Tart. Not only does she give us her recipe but she also troubleshoots for soggy bottoms. Something that we all need to take seriously. I love the wealth of fruity options too that she provides for her Tart. This recipe is our current glorious Summer on a plate.
Candied Cherries.

Homemade Candied Cherries
This post for Candied Cherries from Sew Historically is a brilliant recipe for long term storage of fresh Cherries. It sounds simple to do and the results just keep on giving. I absolutely love her idea of using the left over Cherry Syrup for Cherry Lemonade.
Dragon Fruit and Raspberry Raw Cheesecake

Dragon Fruit and Raspberry Raw Cheesecake
This recipe for Dragon Fruit and Raspberry Raw Cheesecake from The Foodie Journey is again something that I had not encountered and I considered myself somewhat of a Cheesecake expert. It looks stunning and sounds delicious as well as positively healthy. A very modern and well travelled Cheesecake.
Spicy Tomato Chutney

Spicy Tomato Chutney
Tomatoes are strictly speaking a fruit and one of my absolute favourites. So this Spicy Tomato Chutney from Jess Eats and Travels hysterically waved at me from my very first perusal. It sounds perfect for BBQ's and Summer Lunches with cold meats and cheese.... I'm slavering.......
Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry Jam Icing.
This is my favourite Summer Berry recipe on Apply to Face Blog. I discovered that by adding extra egg whites to a cupcake mix the structure of the cake crumb is greatly improved and I am for ever more converted. It produces a soft and springy cupcake that is much easier to eat on the hoof. Seriously delicious too with the surprise jammy pockets within and the lush jam icing..... another revelation to me......I should get out more.....
