Slow Cooker Corn on the Cob is as easy as it gets. Seriously stress free and delicious with only a few minutes prep for the most incredible sweet and buttery corn. Who knew it could be so simple, no simmering, no hovering over a steaming saucepan with a fork just pop them in and get on with life, but definitely not hoovering.

This dish is stress free and mess free. You can even bring this side to the table in the slow cooker pot as a serving dish. Could it get even easier?

Reasons to cook corn on the cob in the slow cooker.

Ingredients

- 4 sweetcorn cobs (ears)
- olive oil - or extra virgin olive oil to give a great flavour
- big pinch of salt
- black pepper
- 2 tbsps butter salted or unsalted
- 300 mls water
Method
Place the pinch of salt into the olive oil and brush all over the corn with a pastry brush or whatever you have that'll do the job.
Put the sweetcorn into the slow cooker and tip in the 300 mls of water.

- Cook on High for 2-3 hours on High or Low 4-6 hours. The sweetcorn will be gloriously bright yellow when cooked.

- Brush with the butter and serve for the most amazing side. Who doesn't love buttery fresh corn?

Storage
Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months in a stout plastic container or freezer bags.
You can slice the corn off the cob and use the kernels in salads, stews, casseroles or just as a side.
Pro Tips
- This is a fabulous recipe for BBQs and the pot can be used to deliver the corn to your outside table
- If you buy the smaller cobs then reduce the cooking time slightly. I would start to check half an hour earlier
- Corn on the cob is cooked when the corn becomes bright yellow and plumps up and is tender when poked with the tip of a sharp knife.
- Use different flavoured butters to suit your meal. Garlic butter would be delicious, here are a few other flavoured butter recipes.
